Building socialist ideas among college students
William Campbell reports
Socialist Students held at stall at North East College, Aberdeen Gallowgate campus, at the recent Equality and Diversity event. Over 30 students signed up to join Socialist Students and many more approached the stall full of interest about our organisation. This was the first Socialist Students activity at this college.
Many were quick to share their experiences of the struggle of student life, from high rents to low waged work along with other topics as well.
We also raised £9 in badge sales, with some students complementing how our badges raised awareness of important issues such as the debilitating effects of multi-national corporations and the message of gay pride (Pride not Profit badges).
Our first meeting will be taking place on Thursday 26th April at 1pm. SG35 room, Ground floor South block of the college building.
